Sobriety calculator: your free sober calculator

Recovery is measured one day at a time — and every one of those days counts. Enter the date your journey began and we'll show you how far you've come, your next milestone, and what you've saved along the way. It's completely private: nothing leaves your device.

Count the days, gently.

Your start date is saved only in this browser, so it's here when you come back. Add what you used to spend to see your savings too — that part's optional.

Milestones & chips

In AA, NA and most fellowships, clean time is marked with chips — small tokens handed out at meetings to celebrate how far you've come. They're a quiet, powerful reminder that the days add up. The common milestones are:

ChipMilestone
Desire / 24 hoursYour very first day — the bravest one.
30 · 60 · 90 daysThe early months, where the habit of recovery takes root.
6 & 9 monthsLife starts to feel steadier and more your own.
1 yearA whole year of one-day-at-a-time. A real turning point.
18 months, then each yearMultiple-year chips — living proof that recovery lasts.

Whatever your number today, it's exactly the right one. If the count ever resets, it doesn't erase what you learned — you simply begin again, wiser. Comparison is the thief of serenity; the only day that matters is this one.

Why counting helps

Watching the days climb turns an abstract goal into something concrete and visible. On a hard afternoon, seeing "you're 3 days from your 90-day chip" can be the small nudge that helps you ride out a craving. Pair it with the HALT check and craving toolkit, get to a meeting, and lean on your people.
